Job Description

Position: Assistant Operations Manager Full-time
Supervisor: Facilities / Operations Manager

General Description of the Position:

The Assistant Operations Manager is directly responsible for assisting in the physical upkeep and maintenance of SCRs facilities and equipment.


Position Functions and Expectations:

1. Perform routine upkeep, maintenance and repairs consistent with standard practices for all SCR facilities, grounds, equipment and machinery.

2. As directed by the Manager, develop and maintain ongoing equipment replacement costs and schedules, including significant building repairs and/or improvements for non-production equipment and machinery.

3. Assist insurance, government, fire and health department representatives with inspections of SCR facilities. Written reports are to be submitted to the Manager after each inspection or visit. These reports will be maintained in a file for review as needed.

4. Assist in the supervision of staff and/or over-hire employees with routine or specific maintenance projects, as assigned by the Manager.

5. Under the supervision of the Manager, maintain key inventory and associated record-keeping for all SCR facilities, equipment and machinery.

6. In coordination with Manager, maintain all storage areas, including archival storage, supervise transportation of equipment and furniture to and from Facilities storage, and maintain inventory of all contents in all locations.

7. As directed by the Manager, develop, maintain and update accurate inventory of all SCR equipment and machinery at all physical plants. Semi-annual inventory reports are to be presented to the Manager and General Manager, and shall include recommendations for replacement, disposal and repairs.

8. Develop and maintain records of all annual or periodic permits and/or inspections necessary to comply with governmental or fire department requirements.

9. Track and schedule all vehicle maintenance, including registration renewals and smog checks. This includes coordinating drop-off and pick-up of vehicles.

10. Schedule and program facilities HVAC needs into computerized system, including monitoring system on a daily basis.

11. Assist the Manager by actively participating and supporting SCRs Injury and Illness Prevention Program, including overseeing regular drills of Emergency Response Team.

12. Assist the Manager in daily tracking of expenses, including entry of invoices into existing tracking systems.

13. Other duties as assigned by the Manager.


Qualifications:

1. BA or BS in related field.

2. Experience working with a multi-purpose facility (preferably arts facility).

3. Budget management and staff supervision experience.

4. Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.

5. Experience working with computerized facilities systems.

6. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills (written as well as verbal).

7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and comfortable with computer-maintained software systems.
