Theatre Summary:
For over forty years, Piven Theatre Workshop has helped thousands of students celebrate play while finding their unique creative voice through the study of improvisation, theatre games, scene study, and story theatre. Students at Piven discover the value of improvisational thinking, the training of impulse and instincts, the power of truth and honesty in performance, and the importance of effective
communication skills. The mission of Piven Theatre Workshop is to encourage a process of creative
exploration that celebrates everyones unique voice through an ensemble-based, community-oriented approach to theatre training and performance.

Position Summary:
The Lighting Supervisor will work directly with the Production Manager to maintain the theatre space for Piven Theatre Workshop. They will oversee the design, installation, operation, and removal of lighting elements for the production season, special events, and rentals. They will also be required to serve as a troubleshooter in the event of system problems.
The Lighting Supervisor will play a key role in creating, managing, and maintaining the working environment in the theatre. They will also work closely with directors, teachers, students, designers, crew, and staff to drive a process focused on supportive, sustainable, and equitable practices.
Employment is on an as needed basis with flexible hours with additional opportunities to design for Piven educational performances and special events.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Immediate need for overhaul of rep plot and lighting equipment, inventory, and storage clear out.
Maintain all lighting tools and equipment in accordance with industry standards.
Attend and participate in design and production meetings.
Attend technical rehearsals, previews, and performances as assigned.
Oversee all load-ins and strikes of lighting equipment for each production, special event, or rental.
Work collaboratively with designers to reach a final product that is in line with design intent while meeting industry standard safety practices, deadlines, and budgetary constraints.
Assist the Production Manager in maintaining the theatre space and managing rentals.
Adhere to and participate in implementation of Piven Theatre Workshops COVID protocols.
Must be comfortable working with elementary thru high school students. Previous experience working with children a plus.
Current COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory before onboarding unless a reasonable accommodation is requested and granted in accordance with Piven Theatre Workshop policy.

Qualifications:
Experience as a theater/entertainment lighting technician or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Current college or graduate students encouraged to apply.
Skill with repair and maintenance of lighting and sound equipment and accessories.
Preferably, experience with programming and operating ETC software, consoles, and QLab.
Working skill in developing and maintaining positive and professional relationships.
Working skill in written and verbal communication.
Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department
Ability to work remotely as needed.

Pay Range:
$15-$18/hour with a 3-hour minimum for on-site work.

COVID 19 Policies and Procedures:
A temperature checking and hand sanitizing station is provided at the entrance to the building. Masks are required in all public and private spaces unless within your quarantine group. On-site work is limited.
