Job Summary:
The Resident Stage Manager is in charge of stage managing productions that make up the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Centers Subscription Series as well as additional events including smaller performances, dance shows, and concerts.

Job Responsibilities:
Run all rehearsals of assigned shows and produce daily rehearsal/performance reports for production team
Call all performances of assigned shows and maintain a safe, smooth running backstage environment
Generate all paperwork necessary for the running of production
Generate rehearsal schedules and ensure they are adhered to
Compose audition notices for assigned productions, confirm audition time slots with all who sign up, and run the audtion process through callbacks. Diseminate casting information to all those who auditioned.
During rehersals, take all necessary notes, including blocking, trigger all rehearsal cues, and ensure that with the help of assistant stage managers, all rehearsal scene changes are executed
Ensure all scenic pieces are being used properly during rehearsals to ensure a seamless transition to the stage with a clear understanding of how all transitions are to be executed
Consistently execute the director and designers vision for the production
Troubleshoot all issues that arise throughout the process
Works independently or with the appropriate team member(s) in identifying and managing the resolution of issues that may arise in the workplace
Maintains a strong knowledge of and adheres to all safety protocol and procedures throughout the course of employment
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
Accepts and performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Strong leadership skills
Experience coordinating technical crews to execute all scene changes
Clear, open, respectful, and timely communication skills
Attention to detail and diligent problem solver
Basic knowledge of Qlab or other cue triggering program
Experience working with large casts of more than 20 cast members

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with students a plus
Other theatrical skills such as sewing, sound, any design, or experience working with projections a plus

Required Education: High School Diploma Required

Preferred Education: BA or BFA in Technical Theater or minimum of 3 years related experience

Required Certifications/Licenses: Valid Drivers License

Physical Requirements:
Ability to work long hours, i.e. a 40 hour week plus weekends and evenings, as determined by the seasons schedule
There is frequent need to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, carry items, use the hands and fingers, climb stairs, balance, kneel, occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds, and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of this position is the employees full time attendance and physical presence within the center.
