Pay
$250 / week, plus shared housing
The North Country Center for the Arts at Jean’s Playhouse, a 260-seat traditional summer stock theatre located in the rural resort town of Lincoln, NH, is seeking a Stage Manager for its 2021 IMPACT Touring Children's Theatre Summer Season, pandemic permitting. We will be developing a cohesive COVID-19 plan to keep our company “bubble” safe during the contract.
The IMPACT Children’s Theatre Tour performs a different original 45-minute musical fairytale to multiple NH venues each week for 6 weeks. The Stage Manager supervises and coordinates the rehearsal process, collaborating with the director, music director, and costume designer. While IMPACT shows use one basic portable set for the entire summer, props and basic furniture fall to the Stage Manager to pull from stock, purchase, or build with support from the Main Stage Props Master. The IMPACT performs up to 10 shows a week in the mornings and early afternoons, while also rehearsing the next show in the late afternoons and evenings. The Stage Manager runs sound for performances, and also leads the actors in their touring “troupe” Responsibilities, which include assembling and disassembling the set at each location, driving the IMPACT 8 seat passenger van to different locations, caring for costumes and props, and being an ambassador throughout the state for NCCA Jean's Playhouse. While not required, a valid driver’s license is preferred.
Salary is $250 / week, plus shared housing in walking distance of the theatre, shops, as well as restaurants, grocery stores, and other common needs. Interested applicants should email a letter of intent, resume, portfolio (if available), and references.
