Position Title: Wig Build Lead
Department: Costume Shop

Position Summary
The Wig Build Lead is responsible for building and styling all assigned wigs as per designs from the Wig Design Team. They are also responsible for maintenance, styling, and upkeep of all wigs for all productions throughout the season including Wig Style Bible creation for every show. This position may also act as a design assistant and/or run a backstage Hair and Makeup track.

Essential Functions
Ability to ventilate is a MUST.
Ability to create a variety of styles including period, modern, and stylized for an outdoor setting.
Ability to work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times.
Ability to create a digital Wig Style Bibles for every production.
Ability to work outside in a desert climate. (Our build facilities are located indoors)
Cleans and maintains all spaces daily.
Maintains the integrity of the wig/makeup design
Maintain flexible schedule for work calls especially during tech weeks
Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment.
Contributes to the overall success of the Production Department by preforming any additional duties and responsibilities assigned

Qualifications
Proven ventilation techniques.
At least 2 years of professional work experience in a live theatrical environment as a wig/makeup crew member or equivalent educational experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of/and experience in a variety of wig styles and maintenance techniques
Working knowledge of hand and machine stitching techniques
Ability to collaborate with the wig/makeup team to efficiently complete assigned projects.
Ability to clean and maintain all related work spaces.
Ability to maintain a professional work environment that reports to the Costume Shop Manager.
Cosmetology license a huge plus.

Skills / Abilities
Ability to cut, wash, block, roller set, and style wigs
Ability to ventilate and re-front wigs is a MUST.
Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete the assigned tasks
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to adequately operate Microsoft Office Suite for bibles, show reports, notes, etc.
Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment.
Ability to work under little supervision.
Ability to occasionally work outside in a desert climate
Ability to lift 20 lbs

Housing is Provided.

Production Dates: February 1st December 22nd

Salary / Rate: $15.00 / hour plus overtime

2021 Production shows include Disneys The Beauty and the Beast, Annie, The Count of Monte Cristo, School of Rock, Smokey Joes Caf+eacute;, Million Dollar Quartet and A Christmas Story.

Extensive COVID-19 plan already active throughout theatre.
