Job Title: Lighting Technician

Reporting Relationships: Lighting Specialist, Project Manager

Job Purpose:

Service, install, demonstrate and provide technical support all lighting product lines carried by Pittsburgh Stage, Inc.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Complete factory certification and/or training for all lines carried by Pittsburgh Stage, Inc.
Accurately complete theatrical lighting projects in accordance with contract drawings and written specifications.
Perform commissioning and end-user training on projects as scheduled.
Monitor running inventory of materials and supplies in the lighting department.
Check-in, pick and load materials for on-going jobs. Identify missing/defective items in advance of scheduled jobs to ensure accordance with project schedule.
Perform preventive maintenance for lighting systems and complete all necessary evaluation forms.
Develop solid business leads for lighting department through site visits and scheduled maintenance.
Maintain and enhance communication between lighting department and all other departments.
Perform duties as an out-reach training specialist, instructing and educating customers as well as other employees on all lighting equipment represented by Pittsburgh Stage Inc.

Key Relationships and Purpose:

Project Manager Daily communication as it pertains to project schedules and/or installation questions

Lighting Specialist Daily communication as it pertains to scheduled job activities, quote requests, sales leads, inventory needed, design work and quality control issues

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a High school Diploma or equivalent with two years of experience in theatrical lighting.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid Pa. drivers license.
Must be able to travel when required, often on short notice.
Must possess basic office skills such as file, fax, copy, and type.
Must Posses computer skills such as e-mail, Word, and Excel.
Must pass the following: Child abuse history check, PA State Police Act 34 Criminal Record Check, Act 24 Arrest Conviction Report, and F.B.I. Federal Criminal History Record.
Strong communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge in welding, machining, fabrication, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
Candidate must be a self-starter and continue professional development in the theatrical lighting industry.
Demonstrated background in several disciplines of the construction industry preferred.
Experience in factory authorized commissioning and training of theatrical lighting systems preferred.
ETCP Certificate Electrical preferred. Candidate required to attain certificate before further advancement within Pittsburgh Stage, Inc.
