Surflight Theater, located 2 hours from NYC at the Shore is seeking Scene ShopTech interns for 2021 season of Annie, A Chorus Line, Xanadu, ShBoom. Located one block from the beach Surflight is in its 72nd Season doing Musicals and Plays all summer and in its shoulder Fall season. Seeking undergraduates or class of 2020 or 21. with good carpentry skills, rigging a plus. Will also TD some Children's Theatre Musicals. Shop and Housing on premises. Please note: Surflight successfully and safely presented a reduced 2020 Summer Season of 3 musicals and 6 Children's Shows, Comedy and Concerts, outside in a tented venue across the street from the theatre. We were 100% Covid free. Given Covid restrictions, the 2021 Season may be outside in the tent again. All employees, volunteers and interns are required to arrive with a recent negative Covid test even if vaccinated or positive for antibodies if recovered. Testing will occur throughout the summer every 2 weeks at the theatres expense. A bubble will be created with our Company with reduced travel and careful contact with outsiders, rehearsals will be held outside, distancing is observed as needed, masks are worn if inside the theatre and backstage. Audience is in mask and distanced by State Law. Our Company, Staff and Artistics are a team whose goal is to keep everyone safe including the patrons. We will be happy to lay out our Covid policies in further detail in the interview process.
