PORTLAND STAGE COMPANY seeks Education interns for its 2020-2021 season. Education Interns assist the artistic and education staff with planning and running Portland Stage's Education Programs for students ages 4-18. In general there are two Education Interns each season. Education Interns will have the opportunity to assist and co-teach alongside experienced professional theater artists. Responsibilities include leading warm-ups, assisting workshops for all In-Theater and In-School programs, collaborating with teaching artists on lesson planning, and serve as Ensemble Coordinators for the holiday show. Interns will also take part in the ongoing administration of education + outreach programs. Administrative duties include organizing + prepping materials, coordinating + communicating with education artists, and researching + writing for PlayNotes and other educational resource guides. All interns will be on two, if not more, run crew assignments and will spend time in other departments to expand their knowledge in all areas of theater. Internship runs from late August through May; interns may be invited to extend the internship through to early August. Housing and stipend are provided; even if COVID causes cancelations the housing will still be provided during normal time frame. See Internship FAQ on website for additional details.
