Ampa Events, an event production company and scene shop, seeks candidates as our Lighting Department Lead Installer and designer.

Ampa seeks a creative lighting technician with a good eye for color to set mood and as a decorating tool. We work with large spandex curtains, colorization, gobo projections and the illumination of stages for corp meetings. The position offers a diverse client type that includes corporate staged meetings with traditional stage lighting, gobo theme decorative lighting, LED and moving lights, chandeliers and more as applied to the event industry. Additional projects include building and historic site illuminations.

Summary

Responsibilities include:
installation for a multitude of special events, equipment maintenance, assisting in retail sale of lighting products to the general public and performance groups, act as an Event Crew Leader, load/unload trucks.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3-5 years of Lighting experience with the ability to program dimmers, boards of various types, rig and provide solutions in a creative manner in serving clients.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
1. Positive individual eager to learn and grow with the company.
2. Lighting: complete understanding of theatrical lighting, wiring, and general repair skills.
3. Ability to use computer design tools to create plots and renderings. Creating 3D renderings and walkthrough preferred.
4. Rigging Skills.Hanging focusing of lights.
5. Self starter, able to work unsupervised as we as part of a team
6. Good driving record, able to drive small box trucks and pull utility trailers.
7. Office: Good written/verbal communications; computer, web and electronic skills. MAC preferred.
8. Customer service skills -- good with people and able to interact positively with clients. Manage them through their production both offsite and onsite.
9. Comfortable juggling multiple projects and able to improvise.
10. Ability to rapidly change gears and adapt to client orders.
11. Ability to lift and move heavy objects with use of proper equipment.

TRAINING
Ampa will train and provide continuing education for committed employees. However, as a Managers Position, candidates must come to this role with superb skills in the aforementioned areas.
