Youth America Grand Prix is a non-profit organization that hosts juried ballet events around the world. It is considered the world's largest global network of dance. We are looking to hire non-union Production Assistants to work backstage and front of house for our Final Competition in New York, at SUNY Purchase College on April 10th-15th 2020 and at Lincoln Center April 15th-18th, 2020.

Production Assistant duties typically consist of ensuring all 1,000+ competitors arrive to the stage at their designated performance time, child guardianship, hanging signs, giving directions to patrons, door managing, and other production related tasks.

The ideal candidate is one with can-do attitude who are able to find the positives in any situation and work well in fast-paced environments. This candidate has experience working with children and/or ballet. The ideal candidate has at least 1+ year of experience in an area related to position desired. Experience in large scale events is recommended, but not mandatory.

We are actively hiring the non-union production-support positions.
Our production assistants are generally assigned within the following areas:

General Production Assistant: assists the production management team in whatever capacity needed. Tasks typically include distributing paperwork, light walking, supporting the various production departments.

Stage Production Assistant: Assists the stage management and production management teams in ensuring a smooth production. May involve moving and/or spiking small set pieces (typically small furniture).

Child Guardian: Works in a variety of capacities and is primarily responsible for making sure the large groups of pre-professional performers are where they need to be for rehearsals and performances. Assists the choreographers with logistics of these large groups of pre-professional performers. Pre-professional performers range in age from 9 to 19.

Talent Management: assists with dressing room setup, greeting professional performers, directing professional performers to dressing rooms, stage, and other engagement locations.

Party Assistant: assists with parties. General tasks may include greeting DJs, greeting caterers, checking credentials for party access, setting up parties, and breaking down parties among other things.
