Supervises: Work study students, overhire stagehands
Pay: $23.00/HR
Work Schedule: 32 hours per week. August to May for academic year, 36 weeks. In addition with summer hours as needed to support summer classes and shows.

Purpose: The Facility Manager for the PONCHO Concert Hall provides production management, stage management oversight, and technical services for the operation of the PONCHO Concert Hall and room 114 at Kerry Hall. Ensures the smooth operation of this historic hall with over 100 student and professional performances of music, theater, and dance each year. This position also assists campus-wide in other events and venues when needed.


1. Facilitates communication with all users of PONCHO Concert Hall, including:
* Working with all departments to ensure effective scheduling of all events in the space
* Works as liaison to the music department students to ensure their recitals are successful
* Advising users (mainly students) as to appropriate scheduling of rehearsals, sound checks, and set-up/tech time needed for different types of events
* Ensuring smooth transitions between classes, performances and 3rd party rental events
* Provides Cornish Facilities and Security Departments sufficient advance notice as to potential impact of events, such as parking lot needs, unusual custodial or security needs, extended parking for trucks during load-in/out of an event, etc.
* Working with the Registrar of the College and Director of CSES, in assisting scheduling use of the facility

2. Provides operational and technical support for all events taking place in PONCHO Concert Hall, including:
* Serves as the primary technician for this space
* Overseeing and coordinating staging of lighting, sound, video, and other equipment and assets as required for performances
* Working with the Music Department chair, staff, and faculty to ensure that all audio and sound reinforcement needs are met; providing sound reinforcement support for daytime and evening events as needed
* Providing technical and material support as possible for curricular/pedagogical use in PONCHO alongside the faculty
* Maintaining inventories of production materials and equipment
* Identifying and assessing equipment and material needs; researching and recommending purchases as appropriate

3. Provides training and supervision of employees and users of the facility, including:
* Hiring, scheduling and supervising work-study students to meet production needs; monitoring work-study budget, providing general instruction to student work-study and professional staff on safety protocols
* Scheduling of sound engineers for live concert mixing
* Oversight of overhire stagehands
* Providing individual and/or group instruction and training on stage rigging techniques, lighting equipment operation, and sound equipment operation
* Providing general instruction to students and professional staff on safety protocols.
* Develops standard operating procedures for the venue, with the Playhouse Technical Supervisor

4. Provides for maintenance and functional operation of the physical venue, sound, lighting, and rigging equipment such as:
* Maintaining the physical space including periodically cleaning and painting the stage, road boxes, and other storage equipment
* Helps with music and dance classroom tech needs
* Maintaining, cleaning, and repairing theatrical equipment, as required
Working with the Operations Department to coordinate ongoing custodial requirements as well as annual cleaning
* Reports any facility concerns

5. Reports to the Creative Spaces and Event Services Department
* Maintains communication with the Rentals Manager and Technical Supervisor.
* Helps oversee the operational budget alongside the CSES Department Technical Supervisor
* Ensures adherence to established College and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards
* Provides support in any and all Cornish venues as needed+nbsp;
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Technical Theater/Music
* Background in concert halls or similar facilities
* Experience in a management position
Certified in CPR and 1st Aid (training provided)
* Strong technical theater experience, including:
- Digital sound system set up and operation
- Backline and other musical instrument set up
- ETC light board programming
- Theatrical rigging
- Projection set up and operation
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive/Docs/Sheets
* AutoCAD or Vectorworks drafting
* Strong interpersonal communication skills
* Self-motivated, responsible, collaborative and able to work with minimum supervision
* Must be able to work well with students in an educational capacity
* Commitment to maintaining a working atmosphere free of discrimination and bias, conducive to the training and nurturing of production personnel and performers (employee and student)
* Attentive to detail
* Understanding of basic equipment for the stage, including ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot complex sound and lighting systems
* Ability to lift 50 pounds, operate personnel lift and climb ladders
* Sense of humor and a collaborative approach to the work

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in professional theater, concert halls, or dance companies
* Experience working in higher education, not-for-profit, or arts environment
