Primitive Grace Theatre Ensemble will stage a world premiere of a new play (written and performed by an ensemble members) in December of 2019. We are an artist-driven, multiracial and multigenerational theater ensemble, creating and staging new plays to challenge the theatrical paradigm.
Our work strives to transform our audience's perspective, compel them to experience reality in new, profound, life-altering ways, and create an immediate impact between actor, audience and subject.

Our ensemble is seeking a number of interns to assist in the following activities.

Production Interns -
Seeking 3 Interns from October to end of Fall Semester - approximately 10 - 20 hours a week.

Interns will work with Production Manager and Playwright (all ensemble members), along with ensemble members and Artistic Directors in the following areas:
1) Research and outline names and contact information of all schools, social organizations and external organizations the ensemble plans to engage with as part of our marketing campaign and outreach program.
2) Develop, design and execute marketing strategies to promote the production off and online. This will include social media, guerrilla marketing techniques, distribution of postcards, posters, etc.
3) Assist in and help produce pre-production talks and events to promote the show and engage with local community groups.
4) Work with all members of cast and crew to manage and execute a number of ad hoc tasks.
5) Design and execute (as overseen by production management) our outreach program events to engage the general public in dialogue regarding the subject matter of our production.
6) Assist in all necessary filing of production documentation with unions, insurance companies, etc..
7) Work front of the house and box office during the production run.
8) Assist in post production strike, load-out, and give feedback and analysis.

Technical and Stage Interns -
Seeking 3 Interns to assist Stage Management, Director and Playwright in the following areas:
1) Assist in the design and construction of the set.
2) Assist in the design, fitting, and shopping for all wardrobe and makeup department needs.
3) Assist in the organization of sound and music program with the Director.
4) Learn and shadow Stage Management team on lighting and sound board operation, be prepared to participate in running live production cues.
5) Manage the Back of House for the entire run of the production
6) Manage the stage props during the run of the show.
7) Manage the wardrobe and makeup with Stage Management.

Rehearsals begin October 28th and run till November 24th.
Show loads in November 25th. Tech and dress rehearsals run November 26th - 27th, December 1st - December 3rd.
There is a break for Thanksgiving weekend.
Show opens December 4th and runs till December 22nd. 3 weeks, 5 shows per week. Performances are Wednesday through Sunday evenings at 8pm.

Primitive Grace is a New York based 501c3 non-profit organization. We offer all interns
