WALKER A1/MIXER

Seasonal, full-time



Reports to: Production Manager

Start Date: September 9, 2019

End Date: October 23, 2019

Work Week: 6 days, 8-10 hours/day, day off may vary week to week

Housing: Single room, kitchen, and bath in company housing



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide sound support and serve as Primary Mixer/Board Operator for Indecent at Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm shows;

Ensure completion of all sound elements of each production to the satisfaction of the Theatre Company and Sound Designer;

Program and operate sound console(s) as needed;

Collaborate with Production Management, Sound Designers, Playhouse A1, and sound shop/engineer to fulfill the sound design and needs of the show;

Assist Sound Designer to create necessary sound cues and effects;

Work with Production Management to ensure all shows are completed within deadlines and budgets

Work with Music Directors on sound needs, backline, instrument rentals, acquisition, setup, and maintenance;

Install necessary equipment and cabling for all shows, including playback, mixers, amps, microphones (if required); video cameras and monitors for the conductor, stage shots; maintain Clear-Com system and equipment;

Communicate proactively with Sound Designers, Stage Managers, Directors, and other production department heads to ensure safe and appropriate implementation of all sound elements;

Create and manage all show-related sound paperwork;

With Production Management coordinate run crew staffing and schedule for all shows;

Attend and participate in production and department head meetings;

Order necessary materials and supplies in a timely manner;

Track deliveries and purchasing paperwork, submitting invoices and receipts to Production Management ;

Maintain and repair sound equipment in all venues;

Oversee the safety of those working in the sound department; actively create and maintain a safe working environment in all work areas;

Ensure that personnel are properly trained in the operation of equipment and tools and use appropriate personal protective equipment during all work calls;

Research, acquire and maintain MSDS for products used by the Sound Department;

Provide support for special events or company projects as needed;

Assist other departments whenever possible;









REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 2 years of professional Sound experience or equivalent;

Advanced skills in Sound Design, mixing and engineering, including creation and acquisition of sound and music effects;

Interest in mentoring and training up-and-coming technicians;

Experience setting up, engineering and maintaining wireless mic systems;

Proficiency mixing musicals using digital consoles required. Familiarity with Qlab preferred;

Experience maintaining and repairing Clear-Com and backstage video systems;

Advanced knowledge of sound consoles own laptop computer;

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, collaborative, communication and leadership skills;

Proven ability to motivate, manage, educate, and coordinate staff members of varying proficiency levels;

Demonstrated experience working on multiple productions within tight timelines and budgets;

Demonstrated knowledge of industry and OSHA standard safety practices;

Ability to lift 50 lbs safely with assistance;

Valid drivers license with clean driving record; own car with valid, current insurance coverage preferred. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for business purposes if necessary. Mileage will be reimbursed for all business related trips;

Experience driving, loading, unloading 24-foot truck required;

Ability to thrive in a rural area with limited cell service;

Ability and willingness to work long days with irregular schedules with a positive attitude



Compensation is between $525-575/ week, housing included.
