Summary of Duties: The Event Operations Coordinator is responsible for oversight of Box office (ticketing) systems and support for events in the Courtyard Theater, Cox Building Playhouse, Amphitheater at Oak Point Park, and McCall Plaza, responsible for supporting general operations of the Arts, Culture and Heritage department through administrative tasks and customer support initiatives.


Management reserves the rights to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.

Operates Plano Stages ticketing and Box Office program, including managing the main Plano Stages Box Office phone line.
Reports weekly on condition and use of the performance spaces, including house counts, safety issues, or procedural changes.
Develops, implements, and maintains The Gallery @ Courtyard art gallery.
Support part-time front of house team to ensure an excellent patron experience.
Investigates and resolves citizen complaints related to areas of responsibility.
Collects and processes payments; documents and maintains records of payments collected; contacts customer with past due fees; monitors the status of delinquent accounts until balances are paid.
Enters appropriate departmental data into the computer system; searches for records of materials in the computer system.
Composes, edits, and types correspondence, memos, reports, charts, and other documents.
Establishes, maintains, and updates department files in accordance with retention policies.
Receives and signs for deliveries; prioritizes and distributes mail to proper staff.
Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential.
Marginal Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Decisions: The incumbent answers questions from citizens regarding events + ticketing services. Answers phone calls and determines appropriate action to take. Receives payments from customers for processing directly into the Cash Receipts System. May monitor collection activity on delinquent accounts and determine next actions to take. Interprets and enforces established policies and regulations. Determines need for maintenance or repair of Box office equipment. Ensures adherence to schedules and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of: Typical entertainment based ticketing services and best practices; event organization and management procedures; theater and special event operations; public assembly management; industry policies, procedures, and practices.
