Job Summary

The City of Woodstock is accepting applications for limited part-time Stage Left Cafe/Box Office Workers with the Woodstock Opera House. This dual position will perform duties pertaining to Front of House activities including work in sales, customer service, receptions, and public relations. Examples of duties include: ticket sales; concessions sales; recording information to a database; processing cash/credit card payments; stocking of inventory; audience/patron relations; and maintaining a clean and organized work space. This limited part-time position will work approximately 12-20 hours per week, and may include daytime, evenings and weekends.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Communicates with the public, in person and/or over the telephone, to receive and process ticket and/or concessions orders.
2. Accurately informs the public of all events, ticket prices and dates, for activities at the Woodstock Opera House and Stage Left Caf+eacute;.
3. Operate a tablet/iPad and/or personal computer and related software, change ticket stock, balance cash drawers, serve concessions, stock inventory, clean equipment and work areas, and ensure valid IDs for patrons as required. Accept payments for tickets and/or concessions, including credit card payments and make change as necessary to the transaction.
4. Ensure that patron service areas are cleared, clean and tidy, both before and after patron use by clearing tables, bringing used dishes/glassware to the kitchen for cleaning and wiping down tables and chairs.
5. Work with volunteers to oversee ticket scanning, patron seating assignments, customer service issues, and prepare performance reports as required.
6. Provide top quality customer service to Opera House patrons and the general public and perform other related public relations activities as assigned.
7. Assist the Front of House Manager with other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Twenty-one (21) years of age or older
3. Excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to respond to customer service inquiries in a pleasant, professional, and mature fashion required.
4. Prior experience with food and beverage service, box office, or theater preferred
5. Ability to obtain BASSET/Servsafe certification within 30 days of employment
6. Familiarity with operating within a computer database and/or Point of Sale (POS) system
7. Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
8. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and climb stairs
9. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds over short distances
