JOB DESCRIPTION
Ravenswood Studio is looking for estimators experienced in exhibit, museum, and scenic fabrication methods who are knowledgeable in multiple methods of manufacturing such as metal work, cabinetry/woodworking, graphic design production, electrical/lighting, interactives and more. This position will be responsible for reviewing drawings from designers and creating estimates for the time, money, materials, and labor required to fabricate an exhibit, theatrical set, or environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze design documents to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates
Work closely with Clients, Sales and Project Managers to determine the initial requirements
Participate in initial design meetings to assess scope and needs of project
Assess manufacturing needs and capabilities of each project and determine associated costs
Produce material take-offs, labor projections and a critical path analysis of fabrication, subcontractors and the installation process
Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Coordinate with Design, Project Managers and Production teams to develop pricing strategy and cost model
Compile detailed written estimates to include breakdown of material requirements, labor, production costs, logistics rates, installation and breakdown costs, etc.
Attend production kick-off meetings to ensure estimates and production are in alignment and budget is adhered to
Estimate jobs with accuracy, speed and efficiency using the company cost estimating system
Consult with industry experts and other subcontractors to discuss estimates and resolve issues
Create and maintain project cost data, summaries, and reports
Investigate cost variances and analyze supplier history and catalogs to recommend vendors.
Work with sales team and project managers to prepare estimates and bids for clients

Adept at problem solving
Ability to determine the procedures needed to manufacture the finished product
Deep knowledge of the fabrication processes and resource functions
Must have basic financial and cost management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project)
Ability to work in team atmosphere
Ability to travel for one to two days as needed
Bachelors Degree in Design, Business, Museum Studies, Construction Management or equivalent experience
Experience with Estimating Software, Project Management software and other related software tools
Ability to successfully present conclusions to senior team members and other professionals
