Richmond Ballet, the State Ballet of Virginia, is hiring interns for the 2019-2020 Season.
The following intern positions will be full time from mid- August 2019 to early June 2020 and will include a weekly stipend. Housing will also be available. Applicants should email their cover letter and resume to Gretchen at ghemmer@richmondballet.com

Richmond Ballets mission is to awaken and uplift the human spirit, both for audiences and artists. We are dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and continuing evolution of the art form of ballet. Richmond Ballet strives to keep meaningful works of dance alive and to produce and foster new works that remain true to these values. Richmond Ballet internships will give the right candidate the opportunity to further your education through a syllabus for each internship and role, while receiving hands-on experience with a non-profit performing arts organization. You will have the opportunity to participate in local activities and sessions over the course of the internship with fellow Richmond Ballet interns, while learning and interacting with other organizations and their interns in the community.

We encourage individuals who are interested in pursuing any aspect of theatre arts to apply. This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals to learn about what happens behind the scenes of a non-profit arts organization and how our programs and productions are brought to life. Interns will be an integral part of our team, while learning side-by-side with the creative team, staff, and artists in aspects of professional theatre arts.

We are currently seeking internship applicants in the production department including electrics, costumes, and carpentry/props positions. These internships will focus on the physical building of a professional show, as well as, stage management, set construction and painting, costume construction, lighting hang and focus.
