GENERAL INFORMATION
Position Title: Master Cutter Draper
Job Status: Full-Time
Reports To: Costume Shop Manager
Employer: TZ Woodinville LLC
Start Date: ASAP

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is the driving force of the costume shops team and requires strong draping and patternmaking/cutting abilities. The Master Cutter/Draper is the primary cutter, draper and patternmaker for the new shows and works with the first hand to supervise and instruct the stitchers. They set workroom standards for construction and serve as a resource to staff in construction methods. A high level of knowledge, independent judgment, creativity, initiative and problem solving skills are necessary. This is a fast paced environment requiring an open, creative and collaborative approach to making period, modern dress and unusual costumes.

SHOW SUMMARY:
Teatro ZinZanni Woodinville presents a full evening of entertainment, combining cirque artists, European cabaret, contortionists, jugglers and illusionists with live music and a gourmet multi-course meal. Set in an antique jewel box tent imported from Belgium, our newest show Hollywood and Vine is now showing at our new location in Woodinville.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities
- Interpret Designers renderings, concept development and research
- Drape, pattern, cut and sew costumes to be constructed and/or supervise these tasks
- Sets the standards for costume construction in the workroom, and oversees quality control and consistency of construction.
- Fit costumes and alter patterns as necessary and/or supervise these tasks
- Determine any additional materials needed and relay to Shop Manager in a timely fashion
- In collaboration with Shop Manager + Designer, determine garment construction procedures
- Works closely with the Costume Shop Manager to determine yardages, notions, trims, etc. needed for each costume.
- Supervise and instruct stitching team towards designated deadlines
- Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated proficiency in theatrical as well as stretch garment construction, including flat pattern making, draping and sculptural use of fabric as well as experience in creating period, modern and other costumes for women and men.
- Excellent knowledge of sewing techniques, with an emphasis on theatrical costume construction, fitting and alteration skills.
- Knowledge of and experience in both mens and ladies tailoring techniques.
- Working knowledge of theatrical production techniques, including boned, beaded and stretch garments
- Crew management skills including but not limited to: time management and work flow.
- Clear focused communicator with a positive can do attitude
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with a strong ability to prioritize time sensitive projects

WORKING SCHEDULE/ENVIRONMENT
Primary schedule is Monday through Friday 9:30am 5:30 p.m.
Schedule may vary according to tech fitting schedules + holidays.
