The Assistant Electrical Operation Manager will be responsible for the operation, oversight, leadership, and training to an integrated team of traveling road crew electricians on large scale touring productions by assisting with Automation, control equipment, power and signal distribution systems, automated moving light systems, and other duties related to the production while adhering to Best Practice Standards.

Essential Job Functions

Operation oversight and supervision in the setup and teardown of any and all equipment as it pertains to the electrical or lighting department while sometimes directing local crews in the loading, unloading, assembling and dissembling of all associated equipment.

Responsible for repairing and maintaining all equipment related to the electrical department as directed by supervisors and Best Practice Standards.

Ensure the safety and security of electrical and lighting equipment related to the electrical department as directed by supervisors and Best Practice Standards of Lock Out Tag Out.

Responsible for system safety as it pertains to the National Electrical Code for temporary installations.

Responsible for following rules, regulations, compliance, safety policies and constantly seeking to improve efficiency and safety within the electrical department and overall show touring productions.

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree or higher in Technical Theater and or 10 + years of experience as an electrical, lighting technician in the theatrical, movie, or arena touring business as it relates to live performance.

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret diverse instructions furnished in various forms including verbal, written, blueprints, schematics and CAD documents.

Must be a good leader and a team player that inspires others to do and be the same.

Ability to travel domestic and international and hold a valid US drivers license and passport.

Extensive knowledge of theatrical electrical systems and automated lighting systems.

Extensive knowledge of maintenance and repair of automated moving lights and moving light systems.

Extensive knowledge of networked systems and networking systems both wired and wireless.

Working knowledge of Blacktrax tracking systems including the ability to set up and troubleshoot and implement.

Working knowledge of various video component and systems including projectors, LED walls and Media Servers.

Ability to specify necessary parts and equipment for the safe repair of all lighting systems including Blacktrax.

Extensive knowledge and practical use of all hand tools.

The individual must be a self-starter and able to work well alone or with small to large groups of people and supervise and guide them when necessary.

Extensive knowledge of electrical meters, phase indicators, electrical measurements, formulas, resistance, data and amperage measurements and requirements.

Good knowledge and experience with AC and DC electrical voltage systems and electrical circuits.
