The Box Office and Events Coordinator manages the Bayou Theater Box Office and is the primary patron and client contact for Bayou Theater and UHCL Art Gallery at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Works closely with the clients to provide excellent customer service. Tracks all rental payments, invoices and bills. Trains and supervises event staff and actively manages the box office during events and performances.

Schedules all events in the Bayou Theater with internal and external clients and actively solicits local companies and clients for new rentals.
Manages the Bayou Theater Box Office including training and supervising event staff, fielding calls and requests from patrons and selling tickets in person for current and upcoming events.
Coordinates, schedules and markets exhibit openings, artist talks, receptions and potential rentals in the UHCL Art Gallery.
Runs post event reports to capture patron data and works closely with the Office of University Advancement to compare databases.
Fields patron concerns, complaints, and works to resolve all issues fairly and with maximum compassion.
Markets and promotes the Bayou Theater to patrons and clients.
Performs other duties as required.



1. Some college coursework.

2. Minimum of two years of experience with cash handling, customer service and event coordination.

3. Experience with performing arts box office policies and procedures.

4. Strong customer service skills with front-line patron/client relations.

5. Event management and planning skills.

6. Preferred knowledge of local news outlets and of marketing avenues to patrons.

7. Ability to work well as a team member.

8. Self-starter with initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision.


Bachelors degree in Arts Management or a related field.
Two years of box office and/or marketing experience for a performing or visual arts organization or university.
Experience with online ticketing systems.
