Job Summary: The successful candidate will be working with Rail Events Productions during the fall and winter of 2018 to present The Polar Express Train Ride in Whippany, NJ on the Morristown + Erie Railway. The Lighting + Audio Technician will work with the Head Electrician, Head Audio Engineer, and production team during preproduction and load in to assist in the install of the lighting and audio systems in accordance to the system designs and railroad safety standards. They will be assist in the operation of the lighting and audio systems during the entire run of the event. They will also be required to maintain the lighting and audio systems and serve as a troubleshooter in the event of system problems. They will work under the supervision of the Production Electrician, Production Audio Engineer, the Production Manager, and the Stage Manager. Because of the nature of the live event they may be required to assist in any event related items as required. They will advise the Stage Manager and Production Manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the sound designs.

Experience and Requirements:

Experience as an theatrical/entertainment lighting and audio technician.
Preferably, experience with programming and operating ETC software and consoles (EOS/ION).
Preferably, experience with Dante and hold an Audinate Dante Level 1 Certification.
Preferably, experience with RF systems and Wireless Workbench.
Ability to work alongside the production staff as a team member in an ever changing environment.
Possess a well-spoken manner in personal communications.
Self-motivation and attention to details.
Be physically capable of lifting heavy objects.
Must be 18 or over.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the Head Electrician and Head Audio Engineer and production staff to install and maintain lighting and audio systems for the event.
Operate, maintain and repair the lighting and audio systems throughout the duration of the event.
Works under the Stage Manager to operate the audio systems during the event.
Work with the production staff during load out to see that event space is returned to the railroad appropriately.
Works with the Director and production staff during rehearsals to incorporate last minute changes.
Become familiar with railroad safety rules.
Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent

Compensation:
Compensation to be negotiated per candidates experience
