Job Summary: The successful candidate will be working with Rail Events Productions during the fall and winter of 2018 to present The Polar Express Train Ride in Whippany, NJ on the Morristown + Erie Railway. The Lighting Technicians and Board Operators will work with the Production Electrician, Lighting Designer, and production team during preproduction and load in to install all lighting systems in accordance to the system designs and railroad safety standards. They will be responsible the operation of the lighting systems during the entire run of the event. They will also be required to help maintain all of the lighting systems and serve as a troubleshooter in the event of system problems. They will work under the supervision of the Production Electrician, the Production Manager, and the Stage Manager. Because of the nature of the live event they may be required to assist in any event related items as required. They will advise the Stage Manager and Production Manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the lighting designs.

Experience and Requirements:

Experience as a theatrical/entertainment lighting system technician/electrician.
Experience with programming and operating ETC software and consoles (EOS/ION).
Ability to work alongside the production staff as a team member in an ever changing environment.
Possess a well-spoken manner in personal communications.
Self-motivation and attention to details.
Be physically capable of lifting heavy objects.
Must be 18 or over.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the Production Electrician and production staff to install and maintain lighting systems for the event.
Operate, maintain and repair the lighting systems throughout the duration of the event.
Responsible for seeing that the lighting designs are maintained with artistic integrity throughout the duration of the event.
Works under the Stage Manager to operate the lighting systems during the event.
Assist the audio engineers with sound systems as needed.
Work with the production staff during load out to see that event space is returned to the railroad appropriately.
Responsible for seeing that the lighting designs are maintained with artistic integrity throughout the duration of the event.
Works under the Stage Manager to operate the lighting systems during the event.
Works with the Director and production staff during rehearsals to incorporate last minute changes.
Become familiar with railroad safety rules.
Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent

Compensation:
Compensation to be negotiated per candidates experience
