Job Summary: The successful candidate will be working with Rail Events Productions during the fall and winter of 2018 to present The Polar Express Train Ride in Ft Lauderdale, FL on Brightline Railroad. The Props Supervisor will be responsible for the load-in, inventory, care, pre-setting, and maintenance of all props associated with the production during the entire run of the event. The Props Supervisor will be onsite for the rehearsals, load-in, all performances, and load-out. They will work under the supervision of the Production Manager and Stage Manager. Because of the nature of the live event they may be required to assist in any event related items as required. They will advise the Stage Manager and Production Manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the lighting and sound designs.

Experience and Requirements:

Experience in props management and repair.
Have good DIY, craft, and repair skills.
Must be willing to travel between Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
Must be willing and available to work some overnight hours.
Ability to work alongside the production staff as a team member in an ever changing environment.
Possess a well-spoken manner in personal communications.
Self-motivation and attention to details.
Be physically capable of lifting heavy objects.
Must be 18 or over.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizing and maintaining the props.
Constructing/altering/repairing props as necessary to ensure successful realization of the show.
Overseeing the pre-setting and usage of props for each performance.
Assist the Wardrobe Supervisor as necessary with costume items.
Responsible for seeing that the props designs are maintained with artistic integrity throughout the event.
Assist with setting and removal of food products.
Works with the Stage Manager and Production Staff during technical rehearsals to incorporate last minute changes.
Work with the production staff during load out to see that event space is returned to the railroad appropriately.
Become familiar with railroad safety rules.
Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Compensation:
Compensation to be negotiated per candidates experience
