Break the Floor Productions is currently seeking lighting technicians for upcoming national tours in the United States, Canada + Mexico. A valid passport and ability to enter Mexico and Canada is mandatory for this position. Applicants must be based in Los Angeles and have a basic knowledge of theatrical production, including audio, video and lighting.

We are currently staffing the following dance convention/competition tours:

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- manage local stagehand labor to ensure proper show setup at the discretion of your tour Production Manager
- layout, assembly and strike of all truss and lighting fixtures on your stage
- lighting console programming and operation during event
- maintaining equipment through self-servicing on site when possible
- assisting with staging setup and break down
- assist with truck loading and unloading

- managing a crew of 4-8 people during load-in and out
- working long hours in high-pace theatrical production environment

Please indicate if you have any experience with the following:
* Grand MA or Avolites lighting consoles. If not, please specify what consoles you are familiar with
* Intelligent Lighting
* Moving light repair
* Conventional fixture and cable repair
* Portable Staging assembly

Knowledge of dance conventions and competitions is a major plus, but not mandatory. Please include this in your resume.

Time Commitment and Travel
Applicant must be available for all cities of the tour they are assigned. During show weekends, you will be flown out of Los Angeles on Thursday, and return on Monday from any of Los Angeles' major airports. Break the Floor covers all flight, hotel and transportation to and from the host city airport. You are responsible for getting to and from the airport in LA.

Applicant must also be available to work our major events in the summer, these include:
* The Dance Awards Las Vegas (6/28/19-7/7/19)
* The Dance Awards Orlando (7/12/19-7/21/19)
* DancerPalooza Long Beach (7/21/197/29/19)

Shop Work
Prior to each tour, you will need to commit to a minimum two weeks of paid training and shop work to prepare for the tour at our production facility in North Hollywood, CA. This training period will start in early September.

Hourly based on work performed on site.
$1100 per city average.
