9 month position, August 15 through April 15


$16.90 per hour / 29 hours per week biweekly

Duties for this position include supervising the construction of scenery, ensuring the safety standards are practiced and scenery is constructed in a timely manner; maintaining Scene Shop tools and equipment including ensuring all tools are in proper working condition and servicing said tools when necessary; supervising THEA 105y and THEA 106y students and student workers who perform internship-level, skilled work. Bachelor's degree is required, however, 5 years' experience may substitute for educational requirement. A minimum of 1 year management experience and welding certificate. Understanding of the collaborative theatrical process of design and production is a must. Applicant should possess thorough knowledge and expertise in utilizing all stationary and hand tools, power and manual expected. Physical demands of the job include heavy lifting, carrying, excessive standing/walking, overhead work on ladders and scaffolding.
