Position Summary:
ArtStream seeks part-time Stage Managers to support the artistic, production and acting teams of an ArtStream Inclusive Theatre Company. The Stage Manager supports the Director by providing organizational oversight, ensuring proper team communication, and coordinating technical elements for the production.

About ArtStream:
ArtStream is a regional non-profit organization whose mission is to bring to people with disabilities creative and performance opportunities that help them gain the confidence to engage with the world.

ArtStream has six Inclusive Theatre Companies that develop and produce original musicals each year based on the ideas and improvisations of the companys 15 actors adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and other social and behavioral needs. A full production team and several onstage volunteer mentors lead and support the actors throughout the process. Directors and Assistant Directors use improv, roleplay and other skill-based exercises to develop characters, a plot and an original script; and Music Directors and Choreographers contribute original music, lyrics and choreography. The six-month Inclusive Theatre season culminates in live public performances showcasing each actors unique talents and abilities.

The Inclusive Theatre season is 26-weeks long with 24 two-hour weekly rehearsals; 3-4 technical rehearsals; and 4-6 performances. Schedules vary by location, please see below.

Responsibilities:

-Attend all rehearsals, production meetings, load-in, technical rehearsals, performances, strike, load-out, and post-production meeting.
-Manage team communication (rehearsal reports, director and designer conversations, production meeting notes, etc.)
-Take detailed notes for each rehearsal and performance; submit reports within 48 hours of each rehearsal, tech rehearsal, or performances to production team.
-Assemble and maintain rehearsal book containing all blocking, scenic and prop tracking lists, technical notes, etc.
-Make note of any prop, scenic, costume, or lighting needs and include in the report.
-Coordinate scene changes and make necessary paperwork for backstage crew.
-Acquire and/or create, organize and track props.
-Support actors with disabilities; manage behavior as necessary.
-Oversee technical rehearsals and productions; lead technical and backstage crew; call the light and sound cues.
-Oversee load-in, strike, and load-out.
-Abide by the prop budget of $50. Must use ArtStream stock as first resource for prop items.
-Report to Director and Theatre + Events Manager.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree preferred; stage management experience required; strong oral and written communication skills; strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; team player; ability to work independently with initiative and meet all deadlines; experience and/or interest in working with people with disabilities; genuine desire to further develop your stage management skills; passion for theatre and a belief in the power of the arts.

Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7:00-9:00pm, September 6th, 2018 thru March 14th, 2019 (Except December 27th, 2018 and January 3rd, 2019)
Tech: 5:00-9:00pm, March 18, 2019 March 20, 2019
Performances: March 21, 2019 March 23, and March 28, 2019 March 30
