Duties and Responsibilities:
An excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual to develop skills in nonprofit development work. The Development Fellow will report directly to the Director of Development and will work closely with the CEO, Office Manager, and other fellows and staff. Primary duties will include: Research grant sources, compile grant application data, write grants, write grant fulfillment reports, and create pre-concert sponsor loops. Work with Ticket Office staff to receive ticket buyer information on a timely basis. Enter data into email newsletter software. Create communications with ticket buyers to move them along the donor path. Write thank you notes and letters for season pass holders and donors. Work closely with the Office Manager and Marketing Fellow to ensure that we are all telling the same story through various channels such as social media, website, press releases and posters. Conduct audience surveys and compile and analyze data. Attend outreach events to collect attendance numbers, demographics and participant comments. Help with donor thank you letters and assist with high-level donor thank you projects. Ensure donor fulfillment benefits are being communicated to the donors and to Operations staff. On days of special events, help with set-up, break-down, silent auctions, and other duties during the events. Attend NRO concerts and rehearsals. Answering office phones and other administrative duties as assigned.

Must be organized, detail oriented and able to focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. A positive, professional, timely, and efficient demeanor. Excellent written and communication skills. Able to interact with donors, volunteers, and staff in varied situations. Must be able to supply own computer and be computer savvy. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Knowledge of classical music is a plus. Above all, must be a team player.
