Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual in this position should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the fellowship having gained broad experience in various aspects of event planning and hospitality. The Event Coordinator Fellow will report directly to the Event Manager and will work closely with the CEO, COO, Director of Development, Director of Marketing, and other fellows and staff. The NRO holds many fundraising events during the summer including: Cajun Crawfish Boil, Annual Black Tie Gala, Fall Wine Classic, Community Outreach Events, and Meet and Greet Events for guest artists, conductors, and donors. This position will assist with all aspects of these events.

Responsibilities: Assisting full time NRO staff with the special events listed above in a variety of roles including: organizing events, taking RSVPs, set-up, clean-up, preparing and executing silent auctions, solicitation of silent auction items, wrapping up events, data entry, calling auction winners and collecting payments, assisting with the creation and distribution of marketing/publicity materials.

Other Duties: Answer office phones. Attend rehearsals and concerts. Assist with a variety of roles at concerts including but not limited to selling merchandise, distribution of purchase incentives, and assisting the Ticket Office staff. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must be able to handle responsibilities of the position in a positive, professional, timely, and efficient manner. Excellent communication skills and attention to confidentiality are required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize tasks in a changing environment with strict attention to detail and work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Proficient in Photoshop and Microsoft Office is a plus. Position may be required to lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to supply own computer.
