Passage Theatre Company in Trenton, NJ is seeking teaching artists and production staff for its upcoming summer training program, to be co-produced with Youth Turn Musical Performing Arts Company. Position descriptions, schedules, and payment are as follows:

Program overview: Passage Theatre and Youth Turn are teaming up to produce a two-month summer training program for high school students that will culminate in two final performances geared toward the music of Motown. Students will take classes in acting, voice, piano, music theory, writing, and production/design. The program will run from July 9th August 24th, with performances on August 24th and 25th. Classes and rehearsals will take place Mondays-Wednesdays from 9am-1pm. (Not all positions are called at all times.) All rehearsals and classes will take place at the Mill Hill Playhouse in Trenton, NJ.

Production/Program Manager: The Production/Program Manager will be in charge of opening the building and helping to prepare for the days classes. This person will also be in charge of distributing and cleaning up after student snacks, scheduling and running all production meetings, and communicating with the stage manager to ensure that the camp and production are running well overall. The Production/Program Manager will communicate daily with Passage Staff to communicate any needs or questions pertaining to the production and training program. This person will also teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Production Management. Pay: $2,000 flat rate.

Stage Manager: The Stage Manager will be in charge of running scheduled performances and rehearsals, helping to distribute and clean-up after student snacks, and locking the building up at the end of the day. The Stage Manager will communicate with Passage staff and the production team, write and send rehearsal reports, and work with the Production/Program Manager to ensure that the training program and production run smoothly. This person will also teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Stage Management. Pay: $2,000 flat rate.

Acting and Writing Teacher/Production Director: The Acting and Writing Teacher/Production Director will be in charge of teaching acting and writing classes, as well as directing the final production. This person will work with the stage manager, choreographer, music director, and designers to create a cohesive show that will showcase the students. As the Director, this person will attend all rehearsals and production meetings, and also teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Directing. Pay: $2,250 flat rate.

Bassist: This person will play the bass guitar for the final performance and attend all necessary rehearsals. Pay: $650 flat rate.

Guitarist: This person will play the guitar for the final performance and attend all necessary rehearsals. Pay: $650 flat rate.

Drummer: This person will play the drums for the final performance and attend all necessary rehearsals. Pay: $650 flat rate.

Set/Props Designer: This person will work with the production director, stage manager, production manager to design, gather, and/or create the set and props for the final production. This person will also attend all production meetings and teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Set Design. Pay: $800 flat rate.

Lighting Designer: This person will work with the production director, stage manager, production manager to design and implement a lighting design for the final production. Additional technicians will be hired to assist with hang/focus. This person will also attend all production meetings and teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Lighting Design. Pay: $800 flat rate.

Sound Designer: This person will work with the production director, stage manager, production manager to design and create the sound design for the final production. Additional technicians will be hired to assist with load-in and tech. This person will also attend all production meetings and teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Sound Design. Pay: $800 flat rate.

Costume Designer: This person will work with the production director, stage manager, production manager to design, gather, and/or create costumes for the final production (which will include roughly 20 students). This person will also attend all production meetings and teach two, hour-long classes to high school students on the subject of Costume Design. Pay: $800 flat rate.
