The Lighting Specialist + Designer is responsible for all lighting design requirements for all Jacobs School of Music opera, ballet, and orchestral events in the 1400 seat Musical Arts Center. Designs up to six fully staged operas and three ballets. Acts as board programmer for all guest designers. Helps hire, fire, train, and supervise electrics crew. With House Electrician maintains budget, schedule, and inventory. Reports to the technical director.
REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree and three years experience in theatrical lighting design in a professional/academic setting.
Working knowledge of CAD/Vectorworks, Lightwright, Photoshop, and standard computer skills. Current knowledge of latest lighting technology, HD projection software and hardware including media servers and automation
This is an on-going, 9-month position, August 1 through April 30. Healthcare benefits continue throughout 12 months.
