The Community Theatre League, Inc., one of the largest community theatres in Pennsylvania is seeking a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills to operate, maintain and safeguard the technical assets of our 167 seat Mainstage thrust theatre and our 50-60 seat flexible blackbox studio theatre. Applicant would also be responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of spaces for rehearsals, rentals, and classes. * Operates, maintains and safeguards the technical assets of the theatre, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage facilities.

* Determines the necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs, necessary for events and performances presented at the facility in advance of production dates.

* Designs, sets up, maintains, and operates lighting and sound systems for theatre, dance, music, and other productions and projects; assists guest designers and arts with technical matters.

* Advises Set Director and volunteer Production Managers, Stage Managers and Directors on the technical specifications, costs and usage of technical equipment required for the individual show and supervises the implementations of approved technical designs.

* Supervises and assists with set and stage construction and management.

* Assists in recruiting, training and assignment of volunteer or paid technical staff for individual shows.

* Orients facility renters and visiting productions to safety, technical characteristics and other areas of facility operations; facilitates the use of the technical facilities by the resident company and others engaged by or renting the facility.

* Monitors the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment; arranges for the repair and replacement within budgetary constraints; performs preventive maintenance on equipment.

* Assists with the preparation and control of production budgets, in conjunction with Finance Committee; maintains inventory and orders specialized supplies.

* Attends Technical Week rehearsals, to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of the show.

* Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors or staff regarding capital purchases of technical equipment.

* Scheduling of all rooms within the building for, but not limited to, performances, rehearsals, concerts, classes, rentals, and meetings, in conjunction with other staff.

* Other duties as assigned/requested.

RENTAL OPERATIONS This individual would oversee all the rental inquiries and executions, including but limited to both the CTL Mainstage and the Studio third floor space.

* Would schedule and meet with interested parties looking to possibly rent any CTL spaces.

* Communicate the need of the interested party with the staff depending on the needs of the rental.

* Would be present during the rental to assist with the execution of the event and to ensure that CTL is represented to the best possibility. Individual would be responsible for finding a staff/board approved volunteer if unable to be at scheduled rental.


* Must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

* Strong oral and written communication skills.

* Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

* Strong customer service background

* Strong ability to set clear priorities in dynamic environments to meet challenging deadlines.

* Must have the ability to work with little supervision, be a self-starter, but also to excel in a team/group environment.

* Proficiencies in lighting and sound design, sound mixing, video design, stage construction techniques, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional Suite, and any other systems that CTL would have in place at time of hire or systems that individual would like to see used by theatre.


* Supervisory experience required.

* Minimum of one to two years of experience in a theatre, major cultural institution or another comparable environment is desirable.

* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

* Ability to work evenings and weekends required.

* Must have up to date, or willing to apply for, Pennsylvania clearances and background checks.

* Must have valid Drivers License
