Virginia Stage Company seeks to fill the position of Master Electrician (ME). The ME is primarily responsible for the execution of budgeting, engineering, and implementation of lighting plots for all Virginia Stage Company productions and special events. The ME will report directly to the Technical Director. This position is a full-time seasonal position with benefits to begin immediately and to end on Sunday, June 3, 2018.

Responsibilities
Execute lighting designs while ensuring that the production serves the plans provided by the designer for all Virginia Stage Company productions, presentations, and special events
Supervise the lighting crew for hang, focus, and strike of electrics and special effects for all productions and special events
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Budget accurately, schedule employees, and coordinate the implementation of labor and materials based on lighting plots and paperwork
Coordinate with all shop and department heads in the timely execution of the lighting plots
Maintain and update all lighting paperwork
Maintain and trouble all lighting inventory and systems
Attend all design meetings, production meetings, technical rehearsals, and any other event as required by the Production Manager

Required Skills:
3 years of lighting experience of a supervisory nature
Knowledge of current stage lighting practices
Demonstrated proficiency of Lightwright and either Vectorworks or AutoCAD software
Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve quickly and effectively
Demonstrated organizational, planning, and follow-through skills
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work within multiple budget lines
Ability to oversee a staff of 1-3 people
Understanding of the design process and ability to clearly communicate with designers and fellow department supervisors
Ability to work at heights up to 35 with the use of lifts and ladders
Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
Ability to program an ETC Expression 3 and an ETC EOS console
