Position: Wardrobe Supervisor

Type of Position: Temporary

Reports To: Production Wardrobe Supervisor and Stage Manager

Dates: 10/9/17 1/7/18

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be working with Rail Events Productions during the fall and winter of 2017 to present The Polar Express Train Ride at Whippany New Jersey with the Morristown and Erie Railway. The Wardrobe Supervisor will work with the production team and designers during load in to prepare the production car and backstage spaces. They will work with the Costume Designer to load in and organize all wardrobe materials as well as assist installing all lighting and sound systems and railroad safety standards. They will be required to maintain the costumes and props as well as help maintain all of the technical systems. They will work under the supervision of the Production Wardrobe Supervisor and the Stage Manager and because of the nature of the live event they may be required to assist in any event related items as required. They will advise the Stage Manager and Production Manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the costume and prop designs.

Experience and Requirements:

Experience as a theatrical technician as well as a wardrobe supervisor
Ability to work alongside the production staff as a team member in an ever changing environment
Possess a well-spoken manner in personal communications
Self-motivation and attention to details
Must be willing to travel within the United States.
Be physically capable of lifting heavy objects
Must be 18 or over

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the design and production staff to install and prep backstage spaces, as well as load in costumes and props
Work with the production team and Chicago design team to coordinate costumes for all cast members
Responsible for seeing that the costume and prop designs are maintained with artistic integrity through the event
Responsible for daily maintenance and running repairs of costumes and props
Onsite and works with the Stage Manager and Production Staff during technical rehearsals to incorporate last minute changes
Become familiar with railroad safety rules
Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Salary:
Salary to be negotiated per candidates experience
