Wildwood School is an urban, coed, college-preparatory, K-12 school in West Los Angeles recognized for its innovative practices, progressive pedagogy, and commitment to multicultural programming. Approaching its 50th anniversary, the school enrolls 750 students in three divisions on two campuses. Wildwood Schools deep commitment to ongoing professional development feeds a renowned Outreach Center that has provided programming for public and independent school teachers, administrators, and trustees in over 16 states and eight countries.

Technical Direction for all Wildwood theatre productions. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+#9679; Collaborate with theatre directors on manageable, cost-effective scenic design for each show.
+#9679; Design, build, and transport all sets and props for each show. Research and purchase materials for construction.
+#9679; Design light and sound for each show. Install and orient lighting equipment as needed (requires climbing ladders). Program digital sound mixing equipment.
+#9679; Be current, familiar, and facile with relevant software, currently that includes QL Editor, Dante, QLab, and iTunes but is subject to change.
+#9679; Instruct students on technical theatre skills and safety, including appropriate use and safe operation of tools, ladders, electrical equipment, etc.
+#9679; Supervise all students involved in the technical design and running of each show.
+#9679; Maintain all lighting equipment (fixtures, lamps, cables, LEDs, moving lights, DMX equipment, consoles, etc.) and sound equipment (wireless systems, consoles, Microphones, lavaliers, stands, monitors, amps, PAs, etc.).
+#9679; Organize and supervise:
+#9675; tech weekends for all school productions,
+#9675; transportation of school production equipment from storage,
+#9675; transportation of rental equipment for productions.
+#9679; Maintain all tools in the shop/shared art space.
+#9679; Move sets and equipment. Safely lift and handle lumber and other heavy materials.
+#9679; Create, foster, exemplify and maintain a safety first department culture.
+#9679; Plan, budget, and utilize financial resources effectively.


+#9679; Teach an US Technical Theatre Elective which includes Set Design and Construction, Lighting Design, Sound Design, and other elements of backstage work. Some of the sets for the productions could be constructed in this class.
+#9679; Teach at least one technical theatre unit in each MS Performing Arts elective.

Theatre Department Tech/Administrative Duties:
+#9679; Import, sort, encode, transcode, export, and publish video to VIMEO.
+#9679; Archive, manage and distribute Performing Arts and Music departments media.
+#9679; Manage soft goods, staging, and storage.
+#9679; Handle steady stream of after school, theatre, construction, IT/AV, events, college recs, conflicts, general computer, and archive access questions.

All School Duties:
+#9679; Run tech for all major events in theatre, as determined by supervisor (e.g. State of School, Back to School Nights, Admissions events).
+#9679; Attend to the lighting needs of Music Department concerts.
+#9679; Train event organizers, faculty, and students on theatre technology.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to safely pull, push, lift, and carry heavy items, and to judge what can and cannot be lifted safely. Must be able to safely climb, and work from, ladders.
