The Gateway Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County is seeking a full-time Costume Shop Manager/Costume Coordinator for its 2018 season.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Oversee all activities and safety of the Wardrobe and Wig Departments
Oversee and participate in the construction, pulling, fitting, and strike of costume elements for 7 mainstage shows, 2 Childrens Theater shows, and our Haunt
Collaborate with the SM, PM, Director, and Costume Designer of each production to determine the needs and feasibility for each production
Costume Coordination for rental packages, when we do not have a designer
Work with the PM to prepare budget estimates, build schedules for all costume elements.
Scheduling of Wardrobe and Wig crews in conjunction with Production Management
Maintain a safe, secure, clean organized office, shop and work space


Prior Shop Manager experience a must
Ability to run a crew, working on multiple projects at one time
Capacity to solve problems
Good communication skills
Understanding of the artistic process
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail
Drivers license
