Albany Park Theater Project is seeking a Master Electrician to oversee the implementation of lighting and projection design for the premiere of OFRENDA, a new theater performance created by APTP, one of the countrys preeminent youth theater ensembles. OFRENDA is a constellation of real-life stories about creating home in turbulent times. OFRENDA will be performed by an ensemble of 34 teens in APTPs 100-seat home theater in one of the most diverse immigrant neighborhoods in the country.

Project Expectations
In addition to theatrical fixtures, candidates should expect some moving lights, work and house lights, some projection, possibly some projected livestream from a camera onstage, and some practical lighting of props or other objects that move in and out of the space.

ME responsibilities to include:
-Collaborating with Lighting Designer and Assistant Lighting Designer (both NYC based) to plan for and ensure successful install of lighting and projection design.
-Coordinating rental order and delivery
-Hiring and managing over-hire electrics labor as needed
-Executing lighting and projection hang, focus, notes, and strike
-Minor repairs or maintenance throughout run of show if needed
-Coordinating all cabling and paperwork
-Minimal presence at dry-tech and tech to ensure success of any technically difficult elements
-Possible collaboration with Props + Objects designer on electrics prop-contained lighting elements

April 2nd-6th, 9th + 10th, 9am-5pm: Lighting Load-in. Schedule within these days is flexible, based on need and at your discretion. I do not expect hang and cabling to require the full time available.
April 11th, 9am-5pm: Focus
April 12th, 9am-5pm: Focus and Dry Tech
April 13th: Tech begins (minimal tech presence required. Morning notes based on your availability.
April 27th: Press Opening
Week of June 9th (tentatively): Strike

For the most part, rehearsals are in the evenings or on Saturday. Standard building hours (which we must work within) are 9am-9pm M-F and Saturdays 9-5pm. Candidates MUST have day-time availability for hang, focus, and notes.
