Purpose of the Job
The Joshua M. Freeman Foundations Production Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of production at the Freeman Stage at Bayside.

Standing Accountabilities

Supervise production budgets. The Production Manager will keep the Chief Operating Officer apprised of the status of the Production budget daily; overall expenses may not go over budget without approval of the COO. Process, track and reconcile all production department accounts payable, contractors and overhire/seasonal employee payroll.

In collaboration with Chief Operating Officer, develop seasonal schedule for all programming. Develop and administer production calendars and design deadlines for each production. Determine load-in and tech schedules for individual productions. Manage resource calendars for all shared facility spaces. With COO schedule all production meetings.

Guide all production teams through process to guarantee the timely completion of all tasks. With the input of appropriate staff, analyze all requests submitted to determine feasibility of execution within time, money and personnel available.

Supervise, in consultation with the COO, all production staff and contractors.

Facilitate clear communications throughout the production process, and act as a liaison
between Tour Production Managers, Crew Chiefs, Contractors and Personnel. Maintain department contact information and show rosters. Ensure company compliance with all union rules, as well as health and safety standards.

As necessary, support productions with hands-on projects including (but not limited to)
audio, video and projections, assisting with stage work, purchasing, sourcing
and maintenance. Promptly address safety hazards with appropriate personnel.

Attend weekly Operational planning meetings. Develop working relationships with local and touring production managers and technicians.

In concert with the Facilities Supervisor oversee inventory and maintenance of all audio, lighting and production equipment. Oversee all routine facility supply stocking as well as general facility hardware such as lamps and stage supplies such as tape.

In concert with the Facilities Supervisor, supervise service contracts include janitorial, landscaping, electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance, and utilities for production trailer, stage and FOH facilities. In concert with the Facilities Supervisor coordinate routine inspections of fire extinguishers and keeps first aid kits stocked. In Concert with the facilities Supervisor, the Production Manager is also responsible for general upkeep of the facility through either the execution of small repairs or identifying the need for outside labor and securing such assistance. Decisions of significance will be made in consultation with
the COO.

The Production Manager will assist the Chief Operating Officer who is JMFFs Safety Officer responsible for overseeing the maintenance of a safe work place in compliance with OSHA, ADA and Building Fire Codes. The production manager is also responsible for ensuring that all employees, contractors and local/touring crews are familiar with the Crisis Management and Emergency Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Minimum of three years experience as a Production Manager, Technical Director, Crew Chief or as a member of a Production Management team
Broad understanding in all aspects of technical theatre
Negotiating and acting as mediator in artistic and technical discussions
Experience creating, monitoring and adhering to budgets
Experience overseeing production calendars and schedules
Ability to read production riders and stage/lighting plots to assess requirements regarding staffing, budgeting and design
Able to lift 40lb, climb ladders, and perform manual labor on an as-needed basis
Possess excellent computer skills and detailed knowledge of spreadsheets
Knowledge of common industry-specific software such as CAD programs, Lightwright, Qlab or Isadora, and experience reading ground plans, light plots and other theatrical specifications a plus.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to manage shifting and competing priorities, exercise good judgment and discretion, and maintain a positive attitude in stressful environments are all essential
Night and weekend hours are required.

Additional Preferred Experience/Abilities

Physical Requirements

+#9679; Lifting and moving equipment and materials that weigh up to 40 pounds
