The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience, preferably within performing arts organizations of comparable size and scope; outstanding communication and team building skills; demonstrated understanding of sales and customer service. The Box Office Manager is a primary point of contact for outstanding patron service providing a high quality experience for all patrons from initial contact through the building of an ongoing and repeat relationship. This position is also responsible for Box Office Ticket operations, providing oversight for the daily activities required for the accurate processing, handling, distribution, reconciliation and documentation of all ticket sales, subscriptions, patron concerns and reports through the Tessitura customer relationship management software. The Box Office Manager partners with the entire staff to generate enthusiasm and build beneficial relationships with patrons, volunteers and community members to positively impact attendance at performances, to expand subscriptions and donations, and to increase community engagement.

Box Office Staff Management
- Directly manages Box Office contract labor
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Kentucky Centers policies and applicable laws
Box Office Processes and Reporting Requirements
- Executes ticketing processes via Tessitura for all performances
- Maintains and updates show information sheets and folders
- Helps process internal ticket requests
Fiscal Responsibility
- Responsible for the accurate accounting of all daily receipts, daily deposits and all cash transactions in the Box Office
- Review the amount of tickets sold and money received
- Maintains accurate record of cashbox monies
- Assists with reconciliation and settlement including preparation of pertinent reports and miscellaneous backup for all performances
Patron Services
- Develops, maintains, and models a superior level of customer service for all patrons
- Sets Box Office policies, embodies a culture of patron service, models behavior, and trains and empowers the Box Office team to enhance overall patron service
- Supports patrons with ADA needs

Selling Tickets and Expanding Subscriptions
- Participates in sales processes for all ticketed performances and ticket sales events
- Responsible for fulfillment of subscription packages
- Ensures accurate show settlement and reconciliation

Operation of Tessitura Ticketing
- Administers ticketing-related functions of the Tessitura database
- Communicates with the Kentucky Center to build all ticketed events in Tessitura
- Performs daily operations of all box office staff ticketing functions
- Pulls general sales reports
- Generate specialized mailing lists

College degree or combination of commensurate experience and education required. Prior sales experience and cash handling and/or accounting experience required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; internet software; order processing systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software, i.e., MS Word and Excel, and ticketing software (preferably Tessitura).

- Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance in order to establish guidelines for proper procedures for patron needs (special patron seating, hearing impairment, wheelchair access, etc.); sensitive to the needs of all patrons
- Results oriented; meets commitments
