Job Description

SUMMARY
The Technical Director supports the Production Manager with all production and events as well as in all aspects of the day to day operations of the Production Department. Work closely with Production Manager, School Artistic Director, General Manager, Associate GM, Box Office Manager, Operations Manager and Business Department to execute physical production for four (4) mainstage and two (2) Atlantic for Kids productions, along with all other Atlantic Theater Company and Acting School programming scheduled at the Linda Gross Theater.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
PRODUCTION
Attend all Technical Rehearsals, Staff, Production and Design meetings as set by the Production Manager.
Assist Production Manager in executing Designers expectations and managing production budgets. Including bidding scenery, in house builds and supervising shop builds.
Build or shop for rehearsal scenery as needed.
Hiring and managing load in and run crews in conjunction with Production Manager.
Supervise load in and technical notes calls run all scenery and rigging work calls.
Maintain a safe working environment in the theater
Assist the Production Manager with weekly and monthly expense projections.
Work with the PM and Ops Manager to maintain the Master Calendar for the Linda Gross Theater and supervise production needs for all rentals, readings and other events taking place at the mainstage
Assist with the development and maintenance of a current accurate equipment inventory.
Assist Operations Manager with theater facility maintenance and repairs as needed
Represent the Production Manager during an absence including being first on call for emergencies.
Other duties as assigned by Production Manager or General Manager.

Interpersonal Skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Creative problem-solving
Theatrical Carpentry skills including construction, rigging and automation.
Ability to set and meet deadlines.
Drafting experience in Vectorworks or AutoCAD, general computer skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
BA/BFA in Theater or related years of experience
Background in multiple areas of theatrical production
Ability to lift 75lbs
Valid drivers license
