The Audio Supervisor for Carolina Performing Arts (CPA) reports to the Director of Production and is responsible for coordinating and managing audio operations for events in Memorial Hall, Gerrard Hall, and Historic Playmakers Theater. The Audio Supervisor will work closely with the CPA Director of Production and Production Managers to coordinate audio needs for touring productions in addition to overseeing all activity in their area while the tour is in the venue. The Audio Supervisor also serves as the front of house engineer for many CPA performances as well as for events hosted by student groups, campus departments, and community groups in our venues. This position also trains CPA student staff to set-up and operate the audio systems. Prior experience with video projections is a plus.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalency and two years of related production experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree, preferably in Theater Arts; Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills; Demonstrated written and oral communication skills; Ability to work independently and as a team player; and previous experience managing students and/or working in a university environment.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience operating digital and analogue audio consoles in a live mixing environment.
Thorough knowledge of sound reinforcement best practices including, but not limited to, microphone placement, monitor placement, and signal processing
Working knowledge of video projection systems
General knowledge of theater rigging, carpentry, and lighting
Soldering and other equipment repair
CPR/AED Certification
