The Lead Stage Electrician heads the Electrics Department for all events in the Gallo Center for the Arts. The Lead Stage Electrician plans, organizes, and directs lighting requirements for all theatrical events including design, hang, circuiting, focus, associated paperwork and related lighting functions for professional and community productions (i.e., touring and local theatrical productions, symphonies, operas, dance companies, civic light opera, touring pop, recitals, country western, big band, rock and roll, and other presentations and community productions). The Lead Stage Electrician also oversees all lighting, audio/visual equipment set-up, operation and strike for events, as well as overall maintenance and upgrades of lighting equipment and systems. The Lead Stage Electrician recommends equipment rental/purchases and stage supply needs. The Lead Stage Electrician assists with the training, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, and coordination of all stage crew and technical personnel, and may also serve in the role of Stage Supervisor for some events.
