Studio Tenn Theatre Company is seeking a Costume Shop Manager/Associate Costume Designer to be a key member of our artistic and production teams. This position is responsible for managing the costume shop, including the areas of costumes, wigs, and makeup. The person in this position collaborates directly with the Artistic Director and Costume Designers throughout the design process and oversees costume shop personnel to ensure the timely completion of all costume elements.

To date, Studio Tenn has served a regional audience of more than 100,000 patrons, and has been recognized three consecutive years as the Best Local Theatre Company in the region by the Nashville Scene. Job Description/Duties:
Collaborate with designers for the planning, execution and completion of all built, pulled and purchased costumes for productions while adhering to budget and schedule deadlines
Work with artistic director/costume designer to design costume pieces as needed
Supervise costume/wardrobe/wig + makeup personnel including full-time staff, overhire stitchers and interns, as well as lead recruitment for additional hires
Work with lead stitcher to create costumes, fabricate patterns by draping or flat-patterning, cutting, stitching, altering, dyeing, and shopping
Communicate with production stage manager regarding costume fittings, rehearsal needs, performer requests and production notes
Ensure timely delivery of all costume elements, introducing costume pieces and rehearsal costumes into the rehearsal process as needed
Work with production stage manager and wardrobe supervisor to determine backstage layout, manage wardrobe crew schedules, coordinate costume load-in and develop show paperwork
Work with wardrobe supervisor to maintain costume pieces through run of productions and assist with strike, cleaning and re-stocking of all costumes post-show
Process weekly staff time-sheets and maintain accurate records of all expenditures
Oversee maintenance of shop supplies, fabrics, materials and costume stock
Maintain a safe, healthy, clean and organized workshop environment

Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years of experience in costume construction and wardrobe supervision
Previous experience managing a costume shop preferred
Extensive knowledge of costume construction techniques and fabrics is required; experience with wig design, construction and maintenance preferred
Experience managing and tracking production budgets/expenses.
Ability to staff and manage crews with various skill sets.
