Gear Connection is seeking a well rounded full time Operations Manager/Lead Systems Tech with a heavy emphasis on Audio, as well as general abilities in the areas of Video + Lighting. The person we are looking for must be self motivated and have a GREAT attitude! This is a full time position with a well established and growing, company. The position also carries medical benefits and provides for Paid Time Off. Experience is a MUST and references will be checked.


Associates Degree in Theatre/Performing Arts Design + Technology AND/OR (5) years of professional experience in technical theater AND/OR live event production/operations.

Presentable, Sober, + Competent in appearance, behavior, and ATTITUDE!

Maintain a professional and friendly working rapport and demonstrate fantastic customer service skills, integrity, and reliability. Be outgoing and enjoy working with people.

Must enjoy working in a fast paced and ever changing work environment. Be organized and adhere to set timeframes; work independently as well as in a team setting. Must possess ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize tasks.

Must have flexible schedule. Ability to work evenings and weekends is REQUIRED as well as occasional short term travel.

Familiarity/Proficiency with specialized theatrical and entertainment software such as Play Back Pro, Q-Lab, VectorWorks, Performance Manager, Dante Controller, Wireless Workbench, JBL LAC, + Flex Rental Solutions is highly desirable.

A strong understanding and respect of event safety issues

Must possess excellent oral, interpersonal communication, organizational, and problem solving skills

Must be able to Safely Drive + Park up to a 26ft Bob-Tail and Must Have Clean Driving record

Safely Lift 60lbs by yourself and be able to stand for several hours at a time

Event Pre-Production/Advance and Logistics Planning
Labor Coordination
Create Equipment Pick Lists
Pull + Prep Equipment for Shows
Load + Unload Trucks while strictly adhering to Company Safety Protocols
Drive Trucks, Deliver/Pick-Up Equipment when necessary
Maintain a high standard of safety + care for company assets, clients, and personnel
Assist with Over the Counter Rental Operations when necessary
Manage the flow of gear in and out of the warehouse
Maintain equipment and perform repairs as necessary
Manage the shop crew and make sure tasks are finished properly and on time
Manage on-site event crews of up to 20 techs
Ensure proper rigging and setup of PA, Lighting, and Video Systems
Utilize JBL Line Array Calculator and JBL Performance Manager for proper deployment of PA Systems
Fill various roles as needed, including Production Manager, Systems Tech, FOH, and Monitor Mixer for concerts and corporate events
Setup Video Screens, Projectors, and operate Analog Way Video Switchers when necessary
Purchase new equipment/parts and manage inventory in Flex
