The Eau Claire Childrens Theatre is a non-profit, volunteer-driven community theatre providing quality theatrical and educational experiences for western Wisconsin residents of all ages. Founded in 1989, the Eau Claire Childrens Theatre is currently in its 28th Season of family entertainment. ECCT has four main areas of programming-
+mainstage productions of major Broadway musicals
+school matinees of shows based on award-winning childrens literature
+touring productions
+summer theatre classes
Each season ECCT produces 14-16 shows along with a variety of special events, at two main venues- the 275 seat theatre, The Oxford, owned by ECCT and the 1100 seat State Theatre. At the end of 2018, the State Theatre will close and those shows will be staged in a BRAND NEW performing arts center currently under construction. (check out communityfortheconfluence.org) With annual attendance of 32,000-35,000 patrons and an annual budget of $640,000, the Eau Claire Childrens Theatre is one of the largest community theatres in western Wisconsin.

Currently our paid staffing consists of the following positions:
+Executive Director
+Associate Director
+Technical Director/Production Manager
+Assistant Technical Director
+Costume Designer
+Assistant Costume Director
In addition there are volunteer Crew Heads that assist in the areas of Hair and Makeup Design (2), Scenic Painting, and Properties (2). ECCT uses an ETC Element for lighting control and Yamaha digital consoles (LS-9 + M7CL) for sound engineering, plus QLab and SCS software for sound/video cueing. A working knowledge of the equipment and software is essential.

Shows coming up in the 2017-18 Season include: The Rocky Horror Show, Annie, Avenue Q, The Addams Family, Disney's My Son Pinocchio, Charlottes Web, The Boxcar Children, and Joseph and the.Dreamcoat.

We are currently taking applications to fill the Technical Director/Production Manager position currently held by Matt Rightmire (MFA, Univ. of Nebraska), who will begin teaching at

I. POSITION OBJECTIVES: To provide superior technical expertise in the areas of Scenic Construction, Lighting and Sound for ECCT productions, rentals and special events while overseeing day to day facilities operations and maintenance for ECCT and The Oxford.

Salary/Benefits: Starting annual salary $30,000-$34,000, negotiable based on experience
Monthly health insurance and cell phone stipend provided
Paid vacations, holidays and sick days
Schedule: Full time salaried position- 40-50 hours weekly; schedule will flex between daytime, evening and weekend hours depending on ECCT production schedule

Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Community volunteers, Assistant Technical Director, Interns
Coordinates with: Volunteer Crew Heads, ECCT Staff

BA/BS in Technical Theatre, Scenic, Lighting or Sound Design or related field desired or comparable experience in the field
Demonstrated scenic design and construction ability
Demonstrated lighting and sound design ability
Knowledge of theatrical lighting and sound reproduction
Knowledge of theatrical style, conventions and terminology
Strong oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with volunteers
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
Strong organizational skills and highly motivated with strong work ethic
Ability to work with minimal supervision

Design and implement scenic, lighting, sound and special effects elements for all ECCT productions, rentals and special events at The Oxford and State Theatre
Train and work with volunteers as part of the running crew for productions
Run lights and/or sound for shows as needed
Lead crews of volunteers to complete construction, painting, load-in and strike for shows
Oversee maintenance of facilities and equipment at ECCT and in The Oxford
Provide tech services to rental and special events
Assist with IT and related tasks as experience allows
Maintain workshop and storage spaces
Complete routine/light maintenance on the facility
Other duties as assigned
