About the Department
Valley Performing Arts Center includes two venues, a 500-seat auditorium, and the new 1700-seat state of the art proscenium theater/concert hall. VPAC presents about 50 performances per year of world-class artists of all genres and disciplines. Located in the nation's second largest market, Los Angeles, VPAC operates at the highest level of professional and artistic excellence.

Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Production Administrator is responsible for supporting the Technical Director. The incumbent manages scheduling and payroll for all part time and contracted production staff involved in presented, co-presented and rental events at The Great Hall and Plaza del Sol Performance Hall in coordination with all relevant Valley Performing Arts Center (VAC) departments and personnel; oversees purchasing and procurement for the production department with related vendors, VPAC and CSUN staff/departments; coordinates all venue and facility scheduling through the event management and scheduling software and all VPAC departments to ensure timely and relevant data is accessible through the software; oversees academic and external production rentals in VPAC venues; stands in for the Technical Director overseeing the administrative duties for over 100 productions annually; and performs other duties as assigned.

Equivalent to graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a job-related field. Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time progressively responsible technical or performing arts experience. Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required education, on a year for year basis. Quantitative skills and financial management experience with payroll and/or expense tracking required.

Knowledge, Skills, + Abilities
Working knowledge of general practices in Performing Arts, Production Services, Theatre or related fields and programs. Working knowledge of operational analysis and techniques. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of production. Ability and specialized skills to: expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications; ability to supervise and/or train others and provide lead work direction. Interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; compile, write and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing; act independently in completing any administrative functions within the production dept. Working knowledge of MS Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, and Power Point. Demonstrated experience with Excel in generating and maintaining spreadsheets and summary reports. Experience with Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS operating systems. Prior experience with a computer based event management and scheduling software preferred. Basic experience with Adobe Acrobat is preferred.

The salary range for this classification is: $3897 - $6326 per month.
The anticipated hiring range: $3897 - $5200, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Hours: Full Time 40hrs/wk; will include some evenings and weekends.
