Job Description

The Motorcycle Mechanic functions as a member of an integrated team within the Properties Department on a large scale touring production by performing the maintenance and upkeep on two-stroke trials bikes and electric motorcycles while assisting with the assembly, operation and disassembly of all backstage scene changes, drive-able units, scenic pieces, loading and unloading of equipment and other duties related to the production.

In conjunction with other members of the Properties Department, the mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining all equipment related to the Props department, including drive-able hydraulic units, remote controlled hand props and flying drones, motorized vehicles and motorbikes and other equipment related to the department.
Off-load and load trucks, operate heavy equipment and assemble and disassembles scenic, drive-able units and all equipment assigned to the Props Department.
Repair or adjust motorcycles (in their entirety) according to rider and production specifications.
Replace defective parts using hand or power tools.
Direct local crews in loading and unloading; assembling and disassembling all equipment associated to, but not limited to the Props department.
Ensure the safety and security of backstage equipment at all times including but not limited to forklifts, drive-able units, heavy equipment, motorcycles and other scenic show production vehicles.
Responsible for following cues to maintain high standards of quality established for the productions aesthetics and creative vision.
Responsible for compliance with all local and company safety policies; continually seeks to improve efficiency and safety within the backstage department and overall production.
Responsible for following the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by the company as they pertain to the Marvel Universe Live Production.
Responsible for accepting all other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirements

Vocational degree or higher in Motorcycle Mechanics and/or 5+ years real world experience as a Motorcycle Technician. Racing or Trials experience a plus.
Understands and has the ability to trouble shoot mechanical and structural problems with both trials bikes and electric motorcycles.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret diverse instructions furnished in various forms including verbal, written, blueprints and CAD documents.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to climb and work focus, adjust and repair at heights in excess of 55ft before, during and after performance and during rigging calls, load ins and load outs.
Recognized as a proven team player with strong verbal communicating skills, creative problem solving and strong organization abilities; mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills for repairs / maintenance.
Ability and desire to tour year round.
Ability to travel to Canada and other international locations.
Skills in mechanics, welding, metal fabrication, transportation and understanding of some electrical principles, formulas and drawings.
Experience operating scissor lifts, various forklifts and other lift equipment and machinery; certifications a plus.
Knowledge and or experience loading and unloading trucks, staging equipment and coordinating traffic flow paths in a live performance setting.
Ability to lift over 75 lbs, stand for 2 hours and operate various powered and non-powered tools.
