Writers Theatre (WT) is a nationally-recognized, award-winning theatre company located on the North Shore of Chicago with an annual operating budget of approximately $6.2 million. The new facility has allowed the Theatre to continue to grow to accommodate its audience, while maintaining its trademark intimacy. The new facility resonates with and complements the Theatres neighboring Glencoe community, adding tremendous value to Chicagoland and helping to establish the North Shore as a premier cultural destination.
Writers Theatre is currently seeking Young Performer Supervisors to join the Stage Management team for our production of a new musical: TREVOR, directed by Marc Bruni. Reporting to Stage Management and Company Management, the Young Performance Supervisors will be responsible for the supervision, welfare and management of all Young Performers (ages 11 to 16).


July 3 October 1, 2017 with possible extension through October 8, 2017.

First Rehearsal: Wednesday, July 5, 2017
First Day of Tech: Wednesday, August 2, 2017
Final Dress: Tuesday, August 8, 2017
1st Preview: Wednesday, August 9, 2017
Opening: Wednesday, August 16, 2017
Initial Close: Sunday, October 1, 2017
Possible Extension Close: Sunday, October 8, 2017
Must be available for all rehearsals and performances for assigned show. Rehearsals are typically a 6 day/week commitment with rehearsal hours that usually span from 10am-6pm prior to tech rehearsals.

Typical performance schedule is Tuesday through Friday nights at 7:30pm; Saturdays at 3pm and 7:30pm; and Sundays at 2pm and 6pm with some student matinees at 10:15am and Wednesday matinees at 3pm scheduled throughout the run.

Provide supervision during meal breaks, escort to local food establishments as needed
Meet Young Performers in lobby when dropped off and wait with Young Performers for parents or guardians to pick them up at the end of rehearsal and performances.
Communicate with Parents/Guardians and Company Management to ensure that the needs of the Young Performers are met.

Understanding of theatrical rehearsal procedures
Previous work with children
Stage Management and/or Teaching Experience is beneficial
Background Check may be required
Weekly salary competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry.
