A prolific scenic design and production studio working across Broadway, film and TV, restaurants, concerts, and live events is seeking a motivated freelance Social Media Manager to manage our accounts. This is a part time position paid at an hourly rate (expected to be 15 hours per week).

We are a small, collaborative group that continually pushes ourselves creatively and strategically in all areas of design. The Social Media Manager will work closely with the lead designer to build and give voice to our brand and to strategize our presence across a variety of platforms. Duties include collaborating with the team to quantify and narrate our creative process in real time and developing and implementing innovative social media campaigns.

A successful Social Media Manager will dig into the company history and culture, be excited about where we have been and where we are going, and seek to share what is interesting and innovative about our work with industry peers and fans alike. They will be an excellent writer and deep thinker with outstanding storytelling skills, a strong point of view, and keen attention to detail. They will be nimble and flexible, reacting efficiently to a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.

Essential Duties:

Develop content for and maintain DKDs social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), including long-term plan and short-term schedule
Meet weekly with the lead designer to ideate and pitch the social media strategy. Maintain communication and flexibility throughout the week to edit content or react to changing priorities
Liaise with studio members to develop content for posts and stay on top of project priorities
Track and report the statistics of each channel to the lead designer
Run occasional live takeovers of collaborators social media channels to document important moments of a project: receiving, editing, and posting content live
Create Page to Stage videos documenting design process of projects
Keep track of studio calendars, upcoming events, and maintain a running list of collaborator handles and relevant hashtags
Occasionally travel and/or work outside standard business hours to document events or projects

Qualifications and Experience:

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to write in various styles: academic/analytical, copy writing, etc.
Excellent research and planning skills. Ability to manage and track projects over extended periods of time
Strong understanding of Internet and social media content strategy
Working understanding of the live entertainment landscape and the history, language, and theory of theatrical design
A good eye for photography and familiarity with cameras, recording equipment, and software: especially DSLRs, GoPros, and Photoshop. Illustrator and InDesign experience a plus.
Experience with video recording, creation and editing
