Event Coordinator


Essentially covering the duties of covering the duties of a House Manager, a Box Office Treasurer and a Concessions Manager, Event Coordinators play an essential role in the operation of The Performing Arts Education Centers Front of House, ensuring patrons and clients have a safe and comfortable experience from the time they park in the lot until they head for home after the show. Event Coordinators must be detail-oriented, personable problem solvers who provide impeccable customer service.

The Event Coordinator reports directly to the Theatre Manager and, in the Theatre Managers absence, has full responsibility for all Front-Of-House activity, including the lobby, parking lots, Box Office and Concessions areas during events in the MainStage and Black Theaters.

Event Coordinators supervise all Front-Of-House staff during events and are responsible for:

Ensuring the lobby, audience chamber, and public are in proper working order before and during each event.
Supervising volunteer and/or paid Parking Attendants, Box Office Staff, Concessions Staff, Ushers and LVUSD Custodial Staff.
Ensuring specific performance and event requirements are fulfilled.
Monitoring all front-of-house activity.
Anticipating problems and implementing solutions immediately.
Supervising all emergency situations.
Accounting for all box office and concessions revenue, staff hours, and inventory in the settlement at the end of each event.
Accurately reporting all financial, staff and patron-related activity to the Theatre Manager.
Correctly operating the computer cash and credit/debit card system.
Accurately monitoring and handling cash transactions and cash accounting.
Restocking materials and supplies.


Vendini Box Office System preferred but not necessary, though excellent computer and other office and retail equipment skills are necessary.
Basic accounting principals.
ADA Asssisted Listening Devices, as well as other theatrical equipment and communications systems.
Point-of-Sale cash and credit card transactions


Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, utilizing a collaborative leadership style in working collaboratively with artistic personnel, staff, students, parents and other volunteers required.
Multi-task efficiently, work under high profile, high stress situations, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.


Minimum High School Diploma required. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

Minimum of three year's house management or related customer-service experience required.
Performing arts, event planning and restaurant management experience preferred.

License and Other Requirements
Event Coordinators will hold current certification in CPR and emergency training. (Training or recertification will be provided.)


Positions are hired per-event on an on-call, as needed basis
Weekend, holiday, and irregular work hours may be required.
Strict deadlines must be met when preparing and running events.
Responding to emergency maintenance needs may be required.

Hearing and speaking to exchange information
Able to lift, push or pull objects up to twenty (20) pounds
Standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing flights of stairs, walking and sitting.
