Fall Scenic Artist Intern: Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre of North Carolina is seeking applications for one paid intern in the Scenic Art Department for the fall season. Position runs from 8/21/17- 10/29/17, with some flexibility.

Synopsis of Position: The scenic intern will work along side the Scenic Charge Artist and Asst. Charge in the preparation and execution of all paint treatments for a minimum of five productions. Preferred applicants should have a basic understanding of traditional scenic art techniques and tools. A desire to progress in technique and the ability to follow direction is a must. Experience is preferred but not required. Housing and utilities are provided. Access to a personal vehicle is preferred. Candidates must also be willing and able to assist in the run of productions during non-shop hours if necessary. Shop hours will be maintained five days a week with additional hours required as necessary.

General Requirements:
Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must have a positive attitude and be able to work well with others
Must be able to work quickly in a faced paced environment
Must be able to adapt to change
Basic understanding to scenic art techniques and tools
